Bump and Grind at the IMA!

I am excited to announce my video work BUMP AND GRIND will be shown at Brisbane's Institute of Modern Art as part of their Green Screen program.

Bump and Grind channels a childhood hangover from the early morning antics of Aerobics Oz Style to reimagine the modern day fitness rituals and overlooked spaces of deep Toowong.
The banality and eccentricities of suburbia unfold as a colourful cast of costumed and semi-naked figures swing, squat and thrust. Caught in the illusive and often ridiculous pursuit of physical perfection, these fitness gimps straddle the awkward slippage between fantasy and reality to create an erotically charged wasteland of half-assed stretches and bodily commands.

This work was previously featured at This Is Not Art in Newcastle last year so I am happy to finally share it with Brisbane audiences.
